Born in the family home on November 19, 1942, he was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Martha (nee Behrman) Wucher; oldest brother, Ronald Wucher and his wife, Annette; and older brother, David Wucher.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann (nee Welch) Wucher; son, Paul Wucher; daughters, Linda (Sara Henley) Wucher and Karen Wucher; granddaughter, Emma Henley; grandson, Aaron Wucher; sister-in-law, Claudine Wucher, and dozens of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends.
A St. Louis native, Elmer attended school at Seven Holy Founders and graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963 on the USS English and USS Sierra.
He and Mary Ann married in May of 1967, before starting their family the following year. The family moved and joined the St. Margaret Mary Alacoque parish.
Elmer was very involved with Boy Scouts of America, which he joined with his son Paul. He continued in Scouts long after Paul, making many dear friends.
He was an active participant in his church and groups such as the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society and was also a Eucharistic minister. During Fridays in Lent, you could always find him working at the Fish Fry.
He was an avid boater and took an annual trip with his family to Table Rock Lake, as well as a one-time vacation on Lake Powell in 2016. He traveled extensively with his wife during his 20 years of retirement.
Elmer brought laughter, compassion, strength, wisdom, and courage to us all. We are so blessed we had the privilege to call him husband, Dad, Grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.
