Dear wife of forty-nine years of the late Carlos Corona, beloved mother of Clarisse (Malcolm) Margulis and Rochelle (Timothy) Briggs, cherished grandmother of Jason Bailey, Bryan Briggs, Kyle Briggs, Amber Briggs (Eric Spell), and Leah Margulis, and dearest great-grandmother of Avery Bailey.
Beloved and youngest of twelve children of the late Celestino and the late Edelmira Fernandez (nee Menendez). Mrs. Corona’s siblings, all deceased, were: Mary Yglesia, Fred Sr., Lilan (Lalo), James, Raymond, Celo Fernandez, Louise Theresa Standley, Jose (Joe), Anita, Hannibal (Nini), and Herbert (Rocky) Fernandez.
Mrs. Corona, for eighty-five years, was a resident of historic Carondelet in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. She was enjoying the last few months of her life in an assisted living community in South County until her recent illness. Mrs. Corona had volunteered and worked part-time in her local public school district for many years.
She was a much loved friend, sister-in-law, cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt.
On Monday, December 8th, 2014, at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO, visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:55 p.m., and at 1:00 p.m. a memorial service will be held in celebration of Elsie’s life. Procession begins immediately after service to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, where Mrs. Corona will be laid to rest with her late husband, a WWII veteran.
