Flora Schwartz

Beloved wife of Stanley Schwartz; dear mother of Dr. Douglas Schwartz (Patti), Daniel Schwartz (the late Anita), Dale Schwartz, the late Don Schwartz (Nancy), and the late Denise Veesart (the late Robert); dear grandmother of Ariel (Matt), Sydney, David (Meghann), Lauren (Sean), Greg (Tracey), Rachel (Dan), Jeff, Abigail (Jordan), Danielle, and Allison; dear great-grandmother of the late Caleb and Joey, Miles, Benjamin, Everett, Ethan, Aidan, Sasha and Rory; dear daughter of the late Esther and the late Jerome D. Rosen; dear sister of the late Shirley Lucas (the late Jules) and Harry Rosen (Deb); dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Flora grew up in St. Louis. She was raised in a home filled with music as her father, Jerome D Rosen of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, taught her and her siblings to play string instruments.

Flora attended Soldan Blewett High School and graduated in 1951. She was a member of the Girls Athletic Association, a violinist in the Senior Orchestra, and was a Concert Mistress leading the orchestra in school productions.

Following High School graduation, Flora went to work for NY Life Insurance Co. as a secretary to management. She met the love of her life, Stan, and they married in 1954. Flora held that love for 71 ½ years, raising their five children with love and care. She provided home cooked meals with her specialty desserts - awarded top honors by her family and friends for over 60 years.

Flora always looked forward to attending Shabbat services at United Hebrew Congregation, especially enjoying the musical portions.

Graveside service Sunday, February 8 at 10 AM at United Hebrew Cemetery, 7855 Canton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions preferred to United Hebrew Congregation or to the charity of your choice.
