MOHS, Frank R., M.D., passed away on April 9, 2018. Born in Webster, South Dakota on May 22, 1928. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat – April 1999, and son Daniel – April 2008. Survived by his daughters and sons: Ann Cray, Michael (Sue), Tom (Rita), Peggy Stickney (Jeff), Phil, Elizabeth Cobb, Patrick (Maria), Peter, John (Samantha), 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Dr. Mohs graduated from St. Louis University Medical School in 1953 and had residencies in Medicine in St. Louis and the University of Missouri – Columbia. He was a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Physician Executives.
He practiced at the Billings Clinic, Billings, Montana for several years and was Chief of Staff at V.A. Hospitals in Montana, Texas, Idaho, and Cincinnati. He returned to St. Louis in 1980 when he was made Medical Director of Medical Affairs at De Paul Health Center. He then became Medicare Medical Director at General American Life Insurance and Arkansas Blue Cross/Blue Shield until he retired in 2000.
Dr. Mohs had active duty in the Air Force and was a member of the Army National Guard when he retired in 1999 as a Colonel and The Missouri State Surgeon.
He was a member of many organizations including AMA, ACP and was a very active in several volunteer activities.
SERVICES: Visitation 4-7pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at KRIEGSHAUSER WEST MORTUARY 9450 Olive Blvd., Olivette. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday, April 14, 2018 Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church 401 S. Lindbergh. Private Interment.
