I will always remember how Gary and Bert looked out for my mother and stepfather. My mother always told me what wonderful neighbors they were.  Their boys grew up being friends to my daughter she spent a lot of time at my moms and at Bert and Gary’s my heart goes out to the family. Gary was a good father and husband he will be missed.

Will always remember seeing Gary have his Dr Pepper out front talking to my grandma and grandpa while we played in the street.  Next day it was off to the confectionery to cash in his soda bottles.  

I am so sorry for your loss. Gary was a great captain and fun to work for. He was an easy mark to play a joke on but he always got us back. He taught me quite a bit about pumping a truck, one of the few great mentors I had in my 20 years at Affton. One of my favorite memories is when he crawled into the trunk of a car to make a video of 1130 going code 3 down Heege for training purposes. You could hear the lid hitting him in the head and him cussing it out. It was one of the classics. 
Gary you will be missed but speaking on behalf of the old guys from three's, you were a great mentor, captain and friend and will always have the memories you created at station three.
