Daddyo, yesterday was a very solemn day for your children and grandchildren. We miss you. You were such an anchor for us and we are deeply saddened by your absence.  But we know you are in Heaven with all your loved ones and that makes us rejoice!  We will see you again once our Lord too calls us home. We love and miss you Daddy.   And you too my Momma.

This is a picture of Uncle Glenn, and other "gang members", at my Mom and Dad's kitchen table on Christmas Day, 1988. Remember how we all squeezed into that tiny kitchen on Melon Dr? Somehow, we just made it happen. How about all those Busch beer cans on the table - you'd think that we all had stock in Anheuser-Busch! Ha - most of us probably did! There was food, laughter, and joy everywhere. And I particularly enjoyed hearing all the old, funny stories that were always told at every family get-together, especially when Uncle Glenn told us about all his cars. How many? 125? More? I can't remember. But he never forgot them. It was amazing to me that he had a story about every single one of them. In fact, very recently he and Mark visited Kristin and me in Rogersville, MO, last May, 2021, for Audrey's graduation from MSU. Guess what? When prompted by me, he went into a time warp of the past and I learned, once again, about all those cars/trucks - make, model, year, cost, if they were new or used, if they needed new brakes, how he would switch out the engines, engine size, horse power, color, what he liked/disliked about the car, which one he took on his first date, which one was the easiest (and the hardest) to work on, which was his favorite, and on and on. So, I thought I would play a dirty trick on him and try to stump him with questions about other cars that were in the family, like: what car was that blue/white hardtop my dad bought brand new in 1955?; what was Grandpa driving when he and Grandma were living in Bloomsdale?; what car did Uncle Roland have with the steering wheel knob that had a picture of the naked lady in it (yeah, that's right, I remember that - and he did too!!). I was more than thrilled to see that youthful twinkle in his eye as he reminisced about each and every one. I loved and cherised every second of it! He was quite a story teller indeed, and I will miss him terribly! I loved my Uncle Glenn

Mom had saved some pictures of her family that a professional photographer had taken in the 1940's. I'm not sure what year it was taken, but Uncle Glenn couldn't have been any older than 20ish?? Was this Uncle Wes and Aunt Winnie's wedding??

This picture of Uncle Glenn and Aunt Edna was taken in my mom and dad's basement on Thanksgiving, 1980. How can any of us ever forget the wonderfully great times we all had together during the holidays. They are some of my most cherised memories.

Here's an old one with Uncle Glenn, Audrey, and Grandpa. Does anyone know where this was taken or what year it was? I love this picture.

Was going through some old pictures from mom. On the back of this picture, it says, "November, 1945, Wes backyard". I thought it was hilarious that they all traded "uniforms/hats". What a bunch of characters!!!


My heart felt condolences for all the family, especially to you Mark and John. I only worked for Glen off and on the first few years before I went on midnight shift. I remember the first time I was on report and he sent me to work for a line boss who shall remain nameless (Marcella). Needless to say I had a small run in with her and she came out of the office saying "if you can't stand the heat (cleaning the tops of running pasteurizers in the middle of July) Mr. Schaeffer doesn't need you anymore today." I responded I had no idea who Mr.Schaeffer was, she told me and I proceeded to bust out the rest of the job in record time. The next day, back on report and Glen and I had a conversation about the previous day and Marcella and exactly what went on and he just shook his head and proceeded to give me quite the easy day all day. I knew right then that if nothing else, he was a fair and good man.  RIP Glen

I spent some of my best days with this man. He was a man of such character. He was funny, had an opinion but most of all, had taught me so much about integrity.  I honored him in life and I honor him in death.  

I love this man!  I couldn’t wait to go over his house from as early as I can remember.  He was the best Grandpa and my best friend. Until we meet again. 

To you my dear Father I want you to know just how much I love you, appreciate you, admire you for all you have given me. I'm so grateful to have cohabitated with you for 46 yrs of my life. I've learned so much from the wisdom you have given me throughout all my years. You've been a loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, uncle & friend to the many ppl who have been blessed to have known you throughout your 94 yrs of life. I'm so blessed and grateful for all the cherished memories you and I have created. To wake each morning and share our daily lives together will be memories I will cherish till the day I meet you & Mom in heaven. I too was blessed being your caregiver during those most difficult months you had to endure. Our heart to heart talk we shared that night before God summoned you into His Kingdom was one I will always be grateful having with you. Your expression of appreciation, thankfulness and your words of love for me was so heartwarming to me. Then on that fateful Thanksgiving day, I was emotionally grateful that I was with you till the last breath you took and that you passed not being alone. I will FOREVER Love you for ALL the love, support & guidance you provided me throughout my 65 yrs. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for being such a wonderful Father to me. May you now dance with Mom in heaven. No more suffering or hardship will you have to endure. Your spirit will forever be with me. I LOVE YOU FROM THE DEEPEST PART OF MY ❤

The greatest Father given to us by God.  He missed his wife, parents and siblings so much. He was ready to go home and we will forever miss him until we see him in Heaven!  Thank you Daddy for being the best Father to us. Your love was unconditional and you were loved more than you knew. #UntilWeEmbraceAgain
