So sorry to hear of the loss of your father. May you both find peace within. Jack was always so nice to us WMA girls when we would hang out at your house way back when. My thoughts and prayers are with you both now.

Dear Dan and Andy,
I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing.  He meant a lot to me. He was my rheumatologist from the time I was 17 until I was 37 when he retired. We corresponded a little but I lost touch over the last decade or so. I loved your dad and I believe we taught each other a few things regarding doctor/patient relationships. I did not know your mother had also passed away. I met her a few times and thought she was a wonderful woman.  My thoughts,condolences, and prayers are with you both.  He shaped my life in many ways.

We always had a special place in our hearts for Dr. Zuckner, as we called him.  He and your mom were good friends with Aron's parent's, Lillian and Phil Katzman. We would always visit with the Zuckners at the Billiken basketball games. They were wonderful people and when we think of them, we smile. Your dad gave Phil Katzman gold shots for many years. We always said that when he saw your dad that he was going to the bank!  Our deepest sympathy goes to you. Dr. Zuckner was a great guy and we know that he will be missed.  Jeanne and Aron Katzman

Andy and Dan,

    I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. Both of your parents were a constant figure in the Wallach family's life, both Jack and Phyllis among my parent's oldest and closest friends. I'm sure you know that my dad (Elliot) had a huge amount of respect and admiration for your dad, on top of how close he felt as a friend. We were out of town and just heard the news this evening, I'm sorry we were not there to help celebrate Jack's life and tremendous legacy.

My father, Bob Ramsey and my mother 
Barbara Ramsey, admired your parents greatly.  Your father was my father's mentor and friend.  Your mother was always elegant, loyal and a true lady. My mother admired her not only for those qualities, but how graciously she managed life as the wife of a dedicated physician.  

In the last years of his life, my Dad looked to yours to keep him vital by driving way out of his way to take my Dad to "school" at SLU, every week. It was a high light and a life line for my Dad til the end of his life.  

I remember many times traveling to conventions with your parents and they were always kind to Hank and me-the tag along kids. Hank and I were always the only children on the trips and your parents welcomed us kindly.

My mother fondly remembered a trip they made with your parents to Japan and one to Alcapulco just to name a few.  

The world is a better place for the lives of both of your parents.  I wish you peace and comfort to know that they are both at rest.

Dr. Jack Zuckner did his graduate training at Queens General Hospital in New York City from 1947-1948.  He did an assistant residency in Internal Medicine at Goldwater Memorial Hospital from 1948-1949, located in New York City. Another assistant residency in Pathology from 1949-1950 at The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis located in St. Louis, MO.  Dr. Zuckner did his residency in Internal Medicine back at Goldwater Memorial Hospital from 1950-1951.  Continuing his education in medicine he was a research fellow in Rheumatic Diseases at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Cornell University Medical College from 1951-1952.   Dr. Zuckner's appointments were numerous.  First as instructor in Internal Medicine at St.Louis University School of Medicine from 1952-1956.  He was the director of the Division of Rheumatology at St. Louis University School of Medicine from 1954-1983.  Also he was the senior instructor in Internal Medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine from 1956 - 1957. Another appointment was assistant professor of Clinical Medicine at St.Louis University School of Medicine from 1957-1980.  He was also associate professor of Clinical Medicine at St.Louis University School of Medicine from 1960-1971.  And in 1971 he was Professor of Clinical Medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine.  Over the years Dr. Zuckner had affilations with the following hospitals, St. Louis University Hospital School of Medicine, St. John's Mercy Medical Center, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and DePaul Community Health Center.
