

Jimmy was the beloved son of the late James "Jimmy Blue" Amalio, Sr. and Prudencia "Pretty" (nee Bommarito) Amalio; loving dad of Cara Amalio; dear brother of Elena Amalio; favorite cousin of Paula Fresta-Smith and her son, Tony (Terri) Smith; devoted uncle and godfather of Dina Merry and Torre (Stephanie) Alsup; great-uncle of Carter and Chloe Merry and Graeson and Alessia Alsup; dear friends of Holly (Tim) Smith and their children, and Patricia Richardson; and a dear friend to many, especially Danny Bazzoli.
Jimmy grew up in St. Louis. He entered the US Army in 1966 and served his country during the VietNam War. After his honorable discharge, he ventured into the insurance business and later became a car salesman. He loved selling Cadillacs and the guys he worked with. In his leisure time he enjoyed cooking, playing golf, eating out, and watching anything sports, especially football.
He was charismatic, a champion bull-sh****er, and unconsciously funny. Jimmy will be remembered through the stories his family and friends will share about him.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20 from 4-7:30pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109 with a Memorial Service to commence at 7:30pm. Jimmy will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Full Military Honors on Friday February, 21 at 9am.
