Jeanne Carmack

Terry Carmack, born February 21, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri to Ray and Eleanore Carmack, was the first born of two strong sons. An avid classic car collector and self-taught mechanic from an early age, Terry went on to earn his Masters in Engineering at Washington University after graduating with a degree in psychology from Boston College. He loved his work and made tremendous contributions to projects all over the world throughout his sixty-year career as an engineer/estimator.

Meanwhile, Jeanne Carmack, born September 10, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Sophia Hochenedel - a teacher by trade and fine artist by talent - pursued her teaching degree at Fontbonne College before giving birth to their oldest daughter, Janet Carmack Trimble and adopting their second child Anne Carmack and stepping away from teaching to enthusiastically mother their daughters full time.

Terry and Jeanne were a powerful duo who dedicated their lives to doing everything that they could for their daughters and family members while working through the painful challenges of Jeanne’s forty-year struggle with a severe and chronic genetic illness that she shared with her dear sister Barbara Lindsay and Barbara’s beloved son Doug Lindsay that often left her incapacitated and unable to tend to herself without Terry’s devoted and determined, daily assistance. A promise he kept until the very end, slipping peacefully away in search of his sweetheart less than seventy-two hours after she left her own painful body behind.

United in their strong Catholic faith, deep friendship and unwavering loyalty to one another they leave behind an abiding example of dogged resilience and a life-long love story that will continue to inspire everyone who comes across it. They will be greatly missed by their loving family and the many members of their big and beloved St. Louis community.

Terry and Jeanne are survived by their daughters, Janet Carmack Trimble and Anne Carmack, their nephews Doug Lindsay and David Carmack, their niece Mary Carmack, Terry’s brother Greg Carmack and three granddaughters Madeline, Katy and Bridget Trimble.

May their legacy live on in all who have been witness to their everlasting and enduring love.
