Life Reflections
Jerome Bates, III affectionately known as “Jr.,” was truly one of a kind. He had a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and a personality that could light up any room. Wherever he went, laughter followed. He had a gift for bringing people together, making others feel welcome, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Jr. attended Northwest High School, where he built friendships and created memories that would last a lifetime. He was also a proud member of the Remedy Church Youth Group, where he enjoyed fellowship, built meaningful relationships, and continued to grow in his faith alongside other young people.
Jr. was a dedicated and hardworking young man. As soon as he was old enough to work, he got a job and took pride in earning his own way. His strong work ethic reflected his determination, responsibility, and desire to build a bright future for himself.
He embraced life with joy and lived each day to the fullest. He loved listening to Rod Wave, swimming, fishing, firing up the grill for family barbecues, being the life of the party, and spending quality time with those he loved most. He never turned down Wingstop or a plate of spaghetti, and everyone who knew him knew that lime green was his favorite color—a perfect reflection of his vibrant personality.
Above all else, Jr. cherished his family. As the firstborn child of both Jerome Bates Jr. and Nicole Bailey, he held a special place in each of their hearts. He was a proud and loving big brother to King, Jamirah, Janiah, Logan, Lauren, Maddison, Mason, and Miracle, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Jr. was also blessed with the love and guidance of his grandparents, Lisa Bailey, John Cantrell, Judy Cantrell, Terri Williams, and Jerome Bates Sr. Their wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love helped shape the compassionate, respectful, and loving young man he became. The bond they shared will forever remain a cherished part of his legacy.
Although Jr.’s journey on earth ended far too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever. His smile, laughter, kindness, hard work, and loving spirit will continue to shine through the hearts of his family, friends, classmates, coworkers, church family, and everyone blessed to know him.
We are forever grateful for the 19 years God blessed us with Jerome Bates III. His legacy of love, faith, laughter, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will forever live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
