Joan Gay Hunt

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Hunt Jr.; her parents, Gray and Lena Small; and her cherished pet, Skittles.

She is survived by her loving children, Remington Koons (Jennifer), Jason Koons (Sherry), William Hunt III, and Christina Kappauff. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Amber Koons (Shawn), Curt Bennett (Laura), Jackie Koons, Josie Koons, Zack Lewis, Ronald Lewis (Beth), Nicole, Jordan (Brie), Alexis, William Hunt IV, Kazia, Max Hunt, Mia Hunt, Alexandria Kappauff, and Steven Kappauff Jr. Joan was also blessed with great-grandchildren Faith, Aurora, Olivia, Hadlie, Silas, Rowan, August, Wynnona, and Bellamy. She is further survived by her sibling, June Hatton; her niece and nephew, Doris Cherry, and Wilbur Hatton, as well as her faithful dogs, Smokey and Socks.

Joan enjoyed sewing and reading and found joy in the simple moments spent with family and friends. She worked for many years before retiring from the Missouri Veterans Home, where she dedicated herself to caring for others. Joan will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the sense of humor she carried with her until the very end.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
