My deepest sympathy.  I wish there were words to help ease the horrible pain of loosing your mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law.  I pray all the wonderful memories you have of Aunt Joan will bring you peace.

I'll always remember your Mom. She was like a Grandma to our boys when we would visit her and Dave in ILL. Aunt Joan would make a delicious homemade meal for us and always gave us gifts. Those were special visits with her and Dave. I am so glad she was a part of our lives, esp since we never got to meet Ray her brother ( David's father).

May you rest in peace Aunt Joan.  So many great memories of you and Uncle Dave when you would come visit us in the country. Never did I hear you two have angry words. I remember going to your house when you had a soda making machine.  I thought that was so cool.  Always smiling Aunt Joan.  You were truly loved.

I can remember pitting cherries on our front porch with Joan.  After about 1 hour she explained very loudly, "My goodness look at your thumbs, they are flat, we better quit"!  She did not know that I have always had flat big thumbs.  We laughed & laughed.  More fun!

Thanks Joan for marrying my brother and making him a very happy man!
Now, you & he can be together again and you can both smile down from above and Watch Over your children, grandchildren and all the future little ones to come with smiles on your faces knowing you did well!

I have so many fond memories of Joan! My favorite memory was when Dave and Joan were young marrieds and lived just a couple of blocks from us and I was just a kid in grade school.  I would go over and play 500 Rummy with Joan. Then there were the many trips to the Capri pool during the summer!  Our prayers are with you all!       Aunt Barb and Uncle Tom

Aunt Joan you will truly be missed. Many memories of you and Uncle Dave playing cards with Mom and Dad. Also all the memories of walking uptown looking at the Christmas lights and having to stop so I could tie your shoes! Spent many nights at your house with the kids playing. Love always Connie

I remember when I was a kid, before and after having the privilege of babysitting for you four Stratman children while she was in hospital for surgery how I loved to talk to her.  We could sit on front steps while she smoked her cigarette and talk about anything.  She loved her children and always had words to say about all of you in such a beautiful motherly and loving way.  And, I remember how your Dad loved her and told me how beautiful she was, her red hair and smile.  I am so thankful to have lived next door to your family....Even the fights I had with Billy make me smile when I remember those days.  And, Philip, you were my birthday present on my 10th birthday! :-)  Joan was a very patient loving person who made me feel special, and I know she made many others feel that way, especially her family.  Hugs to you all.
