Beloved husband of Robyn DeMott for 48 years; dear son of the late Edith and the late Eldon C. DeMott; dear brother and brother-in-law of Karen Moore (Larry), Eldonna Sylvia (Terry Woodbury) and Lois Tooley (Dave); dear brother-in-law of Mark Lebedun (Sue Steiner) and Bruce Lebedun (BJ Carson); dear uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many.
John was the youngest of four children growing up on a farm south of Sedalia, Missouri. He enjoyed tending to the animals and, especially, the horses. John attended a one-room school through the 8th grade and was pleased to have few students there and extended recesses. In high school John enjoyed a close group of friends, known as the Cedar Hill Gang, who gathered at a caboose on the DeMott farm. After 23 years as a Research Instructor at Washington University School of Medicine, John pursued and fulfilled his mission to design and build custom furniture and an occasional wind sculpture. Many are thankful to have his work in their homes.
Graveside Service on Wednesday, May 27 at 1 PM at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road.
