It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John "Greg" Dapron, 73, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Beloved husband of Marta (nee Vogel) Dapron; loving father of Jon Dapron, Daniel (Katie) Davison, and Andrew (Laura) Davison; dear grandfather of Mira, Nolan, Harper, Eric, Layla, Sadie, and Jaxon; dear brother of David (the late Karen) Dapron and Alan (Jackie) Dapron; our dear cousin, uncle, and friend.
With a passion for science that led to an exemplary career as a biochemist at Sigma-Aldrich, a world view centered around humanity and equality for all, and boundless intelligence paired with a characteristic humility and quick wit, Greg carved out a life of his own design. Greg’s tenderness toward animals, his love of nature, and his deep commitment to his family were evident throughout his life. Always a generous man, Greg was especially devoted to a variety of charities, including Doctors without Borders, Feed My Children, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
SERVICES: At the family’s request, there will be no service at this time. A private Celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring.
In honor of a life of philanthropy, memorial contributions in Greg's name are suggested to Doctors without Borders, Feed the Children, or the ASPCA.
