Joseph E Klausner

KLAUSNER, Joseph E of St. Louis on August 2, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Sandor); dear son of the late Joseph C and Mary (nee James) Klausner; loving father of Janice (Bill) Palmisano, Karen (Paul) Altnether and Jean (Patrick) Blair; dear brother of Mary Jane Leach-Abel; beloved grandfather of Gina (Roger) Cruthis, Tony (Cheryl) Palmisano, Paul (Julie) Altnether, Joseph Altnether and Zachery Kirkpatrick; dear great grandfather of Sophie Cruthis, Bella Palmisano, and Vincent Palmisano; dear uncle and friend to many.

Joe grew up in St. Louis. After high school he joined the Navy during World War II. It was during his service that he met Betty who had joined the Navy as a WAVE. Their relationship blossomed, they married and moved back to St. Louis. On returning to St. Louis Joe attended Washington University where he studied aeronautical engineering. Joe went to work for McDonnell Douglas working in engineering. He retired after 30 years and moved to Florida. In the last few years after Betty passed away he returned to St. Louis to be nearer family.

SERVICE: A memorial service will be offered at 1:30 pm Saturday, August 8, 2015 in the chapel at Hoffmeister South County, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. Lemay, MO 63125. There will be a visitation in the funeral home from12:30 pm until the time of service.
