
Dear mother and mother-in-law of Karen (Mont) Levy, Shelley (Gerald) Hochszstein and Gayle (Lawrence) Kenner; dear grandmother of Daniel Weinhaus, Elizabeth (Leah) Goodlaxson Levy, Joanna (Joseph R.) Kyger and Leslie Hochsztein; dear great-grandmother of Joseph L .Kyger; dear sister of the late Abraham Rifkin, the late Miriam Wolpert, the late Helen Rubenstein, Hillel Rifkin and Sam Rifkin; our dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Julia was raised in Eldoret and Nairobi, Kenya. She and her brother Hillel were gifted with musical talent and in their teens enjoyed performing for the troops stationed in Nairobi during WWII. She later moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, and then to Israel and subsequently to St. Louis, Missouri. Julia enjoyed maintaining a journal and creating art through her middle and senior years. Her Jewish faith sustained her throughout her life.
