

Lewis is survived by his wife Claudia Trogler, his son Mathias John Trogler, his mother Joyce Trogler and father Lewis Harold Trogler III, his grandmother Nubia Trogler, his sister Alexandra Trogler and brother-in-law Norman Davis III, his nephews Norman Davis IV and Isaiah Davis, his father-in-law Siegfried Baumann and mother-in-law Petra Baumann, and his companion Jessy. He also leaves behind his aunts and uncles Robert & Sonia Trogler, Frank Irschitz, Ethel & Octavio Delgadillo, Eddy Irschitz, Edwin & Ivania Trogler, Javier Trogler, Jerry Irschitz, Elba & Jose Caldera, Edith Trogler, and Desiree Pereira, and his cousins Nubia E, Robert A, Rommel, Randall, Nicholas, Vanessa, Michael, Robert E, Jose S, Julio, Edwin, Camila, Ronnie, Edith J, Edward, Sonia, Jonathan, Jacobo, Stephanie, Adrian, Angel, Frank, Cassandra, Stefano, Eddy, Octavia, Josef, Desiree I, Natasha, Jerry, Gabriel, Desiree M, and Alberto.
Lewis was born in Masaya, Nicaragua on December 17, 1977. He was the first grandson on both sides of his family, so everyone was very excited to greet him. He moved to the United States of America, St Louis, Missouri, with his parents in February of 1979. He became a citizen of the United States on March 29, 1996.
Lewis was an exemplary student. In grade school he placed first in the national spelling bee. He was also very athletic. He played baseball, basketball, soccer, and street hockey throughout his youth. His favorite sports were baseball and basketball. He also liked snowboarding. Later on he was a big fan of the St Louis Cardinals, The St Louis Blues & St Louis Rams.
As a young child, Lewis really enjoyed the outdoors. He joined the boy scouts when he was about 8 years old. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and swimming in the lake. He loved going on vacations with his Aunt Ethel, Uncle Tavo, sister Alex and cousins Nick & Mike. He also liked everything military themed. He loved playing with his green army men and toy guns. He even dressed up like a soldier for Halloween.
Lewis had a great appreciation for music. He took piano lessons since he was about 9 years old. He loved all genres of music. Growing up, he enjoyed listening to music from artist such as Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Greenday, Tupac, Usher, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Outkast, Montell Jordan and many more.
Lewis was without a doubt a family oriented man. He loved to be surrounded by his immediate and extended family as much as he possibly could. It was always a celebration when Lewis came home.
Lewis attended St Louis Community College for 1 semester after graduating at St Mary’s Highschool. He then fulfilled his dream of joined the United States Army. He enlisted as an Infantryman on August 6, 1998 where he attended basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon completion of his initial training, Lewis arrived at his first duty station in Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he completed Air Assault training. On April 26, 2000 Lewis welcomed his son, Matthias John Trogler, to the world.
While assigned to 2nd Battalion 187 Infantry Regiment "Raider Rakkasans" Lewis deployed for the first time to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, on Jan 15, 2002 returning on July 22, 2002. Shortly after his return from Afghanistan, he relocated to Friedberg, Germany where he deployed twice more to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, from May 12, 2003 to July 24, 2004 and Jan 13, 2006 to Feb 13, 2007.
Lewis was relocated to Baumholder, Germany where he deployed for the final time on April 5, 2008 to May 16, 2009. Lewis met his wife Claudia in Baumholder Germany, where he was stationed, in May of 2009. After spending 7 years in Germany Lewis returned stateside in 2010 serving in the U.S. Army Training Support Center at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Lewis and Claudia got married on March 12, 2011 at the Virginia Beach Wedding Chapel in Virginia Beach. Later, they adopted they’re loving pup, Jessy. Lewis went home to St Louis, Mo and visited with his family for the last time in Dec of 2015 to Jan of 2016. Lewis was then relocated in 2016 for his final duty station at Fort Lewis, Washington.
