Carol was born February 28th, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She attended Brentwood High School and graduated in 1961.
She went on to attend Southeast Missouri State University and obtained a License in Practical Nursing (LPN) Degree. She married Dennis Wipke on September 10, 1966.
Carol faithfully lived a life serving those she loved and was a bright light and source of joy for family, friends and all those who knew her. Early in her adult life, she compassionately cared for her patients at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis. She continued her nursing career until she had her two children, Chrissy and Jim. As a mother, she devoted every minute she had to ensure her children felt safe, supported, encouraged and loved. Her desire to help others was also seen in the care she provided to her mother and mother-in-law in their later years and her husband who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease early in his life.
Carol was very active with her church family at St. Paul’s and treasured her time singing in the Chancel Choir and directing the Songsters (Children’s Choir) and Bell Choir over the years. Her faith was unwavering and she often prayed with family and friends in their time of need. Due to her love for music, Carol learned to play piano as an adult and taught many children how to play as well. Her desire to always learn new things led to her taking up the game of golf. She cherished her times on the golf course and the friendships she made during that time in her life, while playing a sport she loved.
Carol was a devoted wife to her husband Denny, and the most amazing mom and grandmother, sharing her time, love, and support with all of her family. She embraced and treasured every moment she had with family and was the happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease around the age of 70 and showed strength and resilience as she fought that battle for as long as she could.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Chrissy Wagner (Todd), son, Jim Wipke (Jennifer), grandchildren, Jamison (Jared), Jordan, Ally (Chris), Jill, Katie and Jacob, great-grandchildren, Josie and Jax. She is preceded in death by her father and mother and her husband, Dennis Wipke. She will live forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
