Brother Mel was a caring and gracious  person.  His infectious smile touched everyone. He will be missed but always remembered.

My sympathies to the entire Vianney family. Brother Mel will continue to live in our hearts and his legacy will carry on through his beautiful artwork.

Brother Mel was such a wonderful friend, I will never forget his kindness to our children at Our Little Haven, or to me.  His many donated works (the Blue Angel, the Red Angel, the Baseball Angel, the High Chairs, the many Hands, and paintings, paperworks and sculptures) raised awareness of and support for the healing power of love and care for children in crisis---love and joy was in all he did.  We are truly blessed at the Haven to have known and loved him--his work lives on, and there is light in the eyes of many children, with his help.

So sorry about your loss. I've never meet the man. But, I've heard nothing but great praise about him, from his niece Laura Mollering .Now he can work on the great canvas in the sky. Watch for beautiful sunrises and sets .

My sympathies to the family on the loss of Brother Mel. I feel very fortunate to have some of his artwork. My Mother Betty Lemasters and his sister Rita were friends when I was a child, and I am fortunate to have a few memories of him, Rita, and her kids.

Our deepest sympathy.  We have lost a gracious person and talented artist.  We will continue to cherish the Madonna and Child he made and our memories of him.

It was difficult to see Brother Mel slow down--as if that was even possible--over the last several years. Indeed, he was much more at home holding a welding torch while hoisting heavy objects and creating masterpieces from often discarded materials. (Nothing was wasted; not even the bolts. He was a consummate recycler!) His studio was much akin to a cathedral, where art, faith and God met.  The gallery was like a sanctuary. One who entered there seldom left without an uplifted spirit, driven by Brother Mel's sense of whimsy, hope and joy, so well conveyed through his many creations. And, my, was he was a master of many mediums.  Personally, I had the privilege of working with him for nearly two years, on Saturdays, within the "sacristy" or workshop, where he taught me how to make art, too.  Of course, now he'll be working with a much bigger canvas, under the watchful eye of the master of all creation. Well done, Brother Mel.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY ON THE LOSS OF YOUR AMAZINGLY TALENTED BROTHER. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE MET BROTHER MEL SEVERAL YEARS AGO AT ONE OF HIS AWESOME EXIBITS. HE HAS LEFT A BEAUTIFUL LEGACY BEHIND! MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

We have lost a great friend and artist.  I will always cherish his works of art that hang in my home in Orlando, FL.  May he rest in peace.

A living saint and genius is my simple  description of Bro Mel.  Stepping into his gallery was always a thrill admiring his art, his ingenuity, and his genuine hospitality.  The world will miss ths remarkable man.

I will miss his sweet smile and his friendship.  his art will live on forever
