Patricia Collins

COLLINS, Patricia (nee Hurston), 78, of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2015 surrounded by her family. Loving daughter of the late Jack and Margaret (nee Bucler) Hurston; dear wife of Ronald L. Collins; beloved mother of Darla Strode, Jeff Collins, Lisa (Dale) Clark, Chris (Alice) Collins and Rachel Collins; loving grandmother of the Gregg Strode, Christopher Collins, the late Steven Collins, Mandy Collins, Heather Clark and Brittany Clark; dear great grandmother of Jordan Grant, Jaylen Grant, Julian Grant, Calyssa Clark, Scotty Fingers, Isaac Collins, Payton Collins, and Patrick Vuichard; loving sister of Shirley Kinney and Wanda Lesslie; dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Mom enjoyed shopping (especially with her sisters), gardening, spending time outdoors, holidays, or anytime she could spend with friends and family. Sometimes Mom and Dad would go out for a few drinks with friends. When they got home they might be arguing about something silly and Dad would go to bed. Mom didn’t like that. She wanted to finish the discussion. So she would go to the bedroom and keep slamming the door calling Dad so he would get up. Mom was a strong stern woman and always had her shield up. You could never get past her shield. She always had the last word. We loved her very much and we will never forget her.

Services: A visitation will be held from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Hoffmeister South County, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. Lemay, MO 63125. A funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. An interment service will follow the funeral at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
