Beloved partner of Larry S. Marx, MD of 44 years; dear father of Patrick Michael McCarthy Jr. (Emma); dear son of the late Daniel Joseph McCarthy Sr and the late Florence M. O’Hara McCarthy; dear brother of Maureen Johnson (the late Jerry), Mary McCarthy, K. Denise Albrecht (Peter), Daniel J. McCarthy, Jr., Bryan McCarthy (Karen), and Michael McCarthy (April); many thanks to Debi Ford for her loving care and support; beloved uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
A native of Royal Oak, MI and graduate of Dondero High School, Pat led an adventurous life that took him to California, the Pacific Northwest, and a few cities in the Midwest. His love for automobiles led him to a fulfilling career as both a general and sales manager for several auto dealerships. He was recognized for his notable achievement for dealership performance at a national level by Volvo Cars of North America. But most of all, he enjoyed the quiet time he spent with his partner, Larry, his close family and friends, and the many dogs he was fortunate to have in his life. Whether it was out fishing, playing cards, attending professional football games or winning at the casino, Pat found a way to maintain a youthful spirit. And through life’s many turns that befell him, Pat always relied heavily on his Faith in a Higher Power. He will be deeply missed by those who had the good fortune of knowing him.
