

Peggy June Forsythe, daughter of Marvin and Mamie Young (nee Thomas) was born November 11, 1937 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was both baptized and confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 28, 1965 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church-St. Louis.
In 1967 she married John W. Forsythe with whom she enjoyed 31 years in the nuptial estate, until his passing in October 1998. Peggy had two daughters, Joanna (Gilliam) Anderson and Shirley (Jeff) Vandiver who survive, together with her granddaughter Shana vonRathonyi and great grandchildren Ian vonRathonyi, Madelyn vonRathonyi, Haylee Franklin and Hannah Franklin, alongside other relatives and longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Tom Young, Shirlene Styles, Maxine Mayberry, Linda Hankins, Hope Young, Clarice Essmeyer and Joyce Smith.
Peggy worked at Carter Carburetor for 10 years, during which she made lifelong friends. She also worked as a nanny, and formed a lasting relationship with the family.
On March 22, 2000, she became a communicant at Peace Lutheran Church, where her membership since has remained.
Peggy experienced generally good health until the advances of age began to weaken her condition. She lived independently until December 2016, when she transitioned to assisted living and became a resident at Lutheran Senior Services, 600 Breeze Park in Weldon Springs, MO. On January 19, 2025 she became ill and became a patient at DePaul Medical Center where she remained until her departure peacefully at 9:45 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025. She attained the age of 87 years, 2 months, and 9 days. Following this service, she will be interred at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
