Peter Joseph Gera passed quietly in his sleep at his home on August 8, 2016 at the age of 97, predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Nita. Loving father of Nancy Gera, Gayle Grainer and son-in-law James Grainer. Proud grandfather of Meghan and Lauren Grainer.
Peter was a graduate of St. Louis University and worked for the Missouri Division of Insurance as well as a consultant for the State of Georgia.
He was part of the greatest generation serving for the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He had a great and full life. We would like to thank Hope Hospice, Inc.
Funeral from Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO at 9:15AM then to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for 10 AM Mass. Interment National Cemetery. Visitation Sunday, August 14 from 4-7 PM. Condolences may be offered at www.hoffmeistersouthcounty.com.
