
Phyllis Sue (Weiner) Silverman passed away, peacefully, in her sleep on November 29, 2025. She was 92 years old. Phyllis was able to live life to the fullest until her final days. In July, she was able to go to Disneyworld with her daughter, Sharen Seiter and two of her granddaughters – Jessica and Bari Seiter. Phyllis stayed the entire day and made sure she stuck around for the fireworks at the end of the night. In October, she insisted on attending the wedding of her grandson, Dylan Silverman (to Olivia Dirienz), in Brooklyn, New York.
For years, Phyllis dedicated her life to family and volunteering at Nusach Hari B’nai Zion and for various Jewish organizations in the St. Louis area. She had a long, loving marriage of 67 years to her husband, Sidney Silverman, who passed in 2020.
She is survived by her children: Fred Silverman (and Julie Kornfeld) of Gambier, Ohio, Mark Silverman of Orlando, Florida and Sharen Seiter (and Randy) of Fenton, Missouri.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dylan (and Olivia Dirienz), Morgan and Ely Silverman; Jessica and Bari Seiter.
She is also survived by her brother, Norwin Weiner of Baltimore, Maryland.
Phyllis was a St. Louis native whose parents, Dave and Beatrice Weiner, and sister, Elaine Gottlieb, of blessed memory, all preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, December 2 at 12 noon at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Rd. Chesterfield, Missouri. To honor Phyllis, memorial contributions can be made to the Jewish Food Pantry of St. Louis.
