Robert “Bob” Clinton Mitchell born May 29, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Mitchell and Joyce Mitchell (Major) died on April 25, 2024. Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jennifer Maureen Mitchell (Barton); his three children, Stephanie (Curran) Coulter, Bradley (Hannah) Mitchell, and Mallory (Chance) Alexander; and five grandchildren, George and Charlie Coulter, Adelaide Mitchell, and Cooper and Jane Alexander. Preceded in death by his mother, father, and brothers John (Suzanne) and Thomas Mitchell.
Bob graduated from Saint Louis University High School (“SLUH”), received his Bachelors in Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla, and received his Masters Degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He pursued a career in engineering, leading the Frank C. Mitchell Company (later, MB Mitchell Company) for nearly 40 years. He served his industry as President of the Plumbing Industry Council, President of the Plumbing Contractors Association, Board of Directors Membership on the Associated General Contractors, Membership on the Metropolitan Sewer District Joint Committee, and involvement in the PRIDE (Productivity and Responsibility Increase Development and Employment) Labor/Management Committee of the Associated General Contractors. He also served as an Advisory Committee member with SLUH.
In his retirement, he continued his work as a Management Trustee for Local 562 Funds and as a member of the SLUH Building and Grounds Committee. He was also avid golfer with St. Louis Engineers Club. He continued his passion for gardening and photography, and discovered his favorite title, “Grandpa.” He loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them, and taking them on adventures around St. Louis.
Services: Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West, 9450 Olive Boulevard, Saint Louis, Missouri 63132; Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church, 401 South Lindbergh Boulevard, Creve Coeur, Missouri 63131.
In lieu of flowers, please offer mass or provide donations to SLUH Class of 1974 Scholarship Fund or The TKE Triangle Foundation at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
