It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Rose Goldberg - wife of the late Harold Goldberg; dear mother (and mother-in-law) of Phyllis (Calvin) Yee and Andrea (Michael) Korein; grandmother of Danielle (Jacob) Dearing and Katie and Gabie Korein; dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Herbie and Marilyn Blumenthal.
Rose’s extended family included Harold’s daughter and son - Irene (Charles) Dale and Larry Goldberg - as well as their children and grandchildren - Rebecca Dale, Joshua (Crystal) Dale and Beth (Tim) Coyle. Rose was a great-grandmother to Jonathon and Eleanora.
Professionally, Rose spent over 40 years as a professor and researcher in the area of hematology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. She was part of a team that published many ground-breaking research papers in this field and made significant contributions to the care and treatment of cancer, leukemia and sickle cell patients worldwide.
Rose also had a passion for antiques and started to collect and then sell her finds. Her booth at antique shows was always one of the most sought-after to visit because of the high-quality items she displayed and her knowledge of each piece.
Rose always gave her spare time generously to worthy causes, community and people in need – a life lesson she instilled in her family. She will be greatly missed.
