Ruth Ida Oakes

Ruth was the devoted wife of Robert Oakes, after 42 special years together, they recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Ruth was the loving Mother of four, Jordan Oakes, Bruce Oakes, Rachel Zimand, and Beth Oakes; She was a Grandmother of 10, Danielle, Alexander, Dylan, Adam, Lindsay, Austin, Jeremy, Asher, Brody and Levy; Not only a magnificent Grandmother, she was a Great-Grandmother of Viola and Nolan; Also, a Step-Grandmother of Michael and Nicole, and Step-Great-Grandmother of Johnathan, James, and Addisyn; Beloved Sister of Naomi and Devorah, and loving Aunt and Great-Aunt.

Ruth was born on March 24, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lincoln High School, received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri Rolla, a Master's from the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin, and a Ph.D. from Saint Louis University. She worked as a Clinical Psychologist and helped many patients throughout a distinguished career.

Graveside service Monday July 12, 2 PM at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Rd, 63017. Memorial contributions preferred to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
