Shirley R. Hegel, 78, of St. Louis, passed away January 6 at her home. Shirley was born in St. Louis on October 9, 1932, the daughter of Herbert and Teresa (Schmidt) Baughman. Loving wife of the late Donald E. Hegel Sr. Dear mother of Sue (Amos) Pratt, Debb (Don) Cobb, Don Hegel Jr., Shari (Mike) Haller, Scott (Deb) Hegel, and Steve Hegel. Dear sister of Alberta Heitzer. Loving grandmother of Derek, Carissa, Marlo, Amanda, Jacob, Brittany, Preston, Hope, Porter, and Peyton. Dear great grandmother to Trey, Paige, and Dylan. Dear aunt, great aunt, cousin, and dear friend. Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Monday January 10, at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., where the family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M. Interment in National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks.
