Sue met us at Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas in April 2001. To sail a week in the Abaco aboard our sailboat Galadriel. 

We discovered a new brand of rum, thanks to the bartender, explored Green Turtle Cay, and Sue experienced sailboat life in a safe calm, harbor  with me, John, Jake and Libby (our parrots). Laughs were plenty sitting in the cockpit. It is a time I always remember. Fair winds Sue, and following seas! 

Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative. We spent most of the week traveling to and from the sailboat in our trusty dinghy. 

I  worked closely with Sue at Social Security for several years.  She was smart, witty and a joy to work with.   Our staff (now retired)  gets together for lunch occasionally and was sorry when Sue moved back to St Louis so she could no longer join us.

I worked with Sue for over fifteen years.   She was an inspired and inspiring colleague who saw the best in people.   I will remember our talks about baseball and music fondly.   My deepest sympathies. 

 

Sue and I met in Seattle as new transfers to the Social Security tele-service center in 1991. Our friendship grew; like others, Sue knew no stranger. We took several travel adventures together. They involved a train, a plane, an automobile, a fast-speed catamaran, and a 42 foot sailboat. Not all at the same time, but each involved a great story.  In conversations we have with our now RV buddies, my stories often include those trips  I shared with Sue.

I knew Sue from Social Security.  She was very thoughtful and smart and really cared about people.  

Sue Bussman was luminescent.  She brought warmth and grace every day.  A consummate professional, she knew Social Security issues and procedures in minute detail and was a pillar everyone could rely on. But always with a twinkle in her eye and a quick wit. It is sad that she was taken so early.  We shall miss her.  Judy Chesser

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sue will always be one of the kindest, nicest, most generous people I have known.

Here's a photo of Sue, me, Billie Armenta and her nephew from the early 2000s.  We all met in Seattle, and a couple years after Sue moved to Baltimore, my husband and I moved there as well.  We'd get together throughout our time back east til retirement.  I'm sorry I didn't make it to Missouri. 

Sue will always be in our hearts-- til we meet again my friend.



Sue you will be deeply missed.  So many fun fond memories and a sad one too.  You can be with Peter now.  Condolences to your family.  You touched many people's hearts and lives 

Dear Sue was the kind of friend all of us wish we would be.  Sue always gave the best of herself to family and friends, and we were so fortunate to have her in our lives.  I will miss her smile and laughter.. I will miss her. Although she is not close at hand, she will always be close at heart. Rest in peace dear friend.

Sue was a great asset to our audio description team at MindsEye. She will be missed. 

Sue was an important part of our MindsEye team.

I worked with Sue at Social Security.  Although she often worked under a great deal of pressure, she always maintained her positive and friendly manner.  She was a true friend and colleague.  When she moved back to St. Louis, she didn’t live far from my daughter, allowing us to get together for lunch from time to time.  It was always a good time.  I will miss her.

Family and Friends, 
I was blessed to be able to work with Sue at Social Security Administration Headquarters in Baltimore.  We have kept in touch since my retirement in 2016 and shared special messages at each Jewish holiday.  She was a positive bright light and will surely be missed. May memories of Sue be a blessing to all and bring a smile when you remember the joy she brought to this world.

Sue will be missed by many friends from her Ladue High School class. She was friendly to everyone, had a great sense of humor and loved her baseball Cardinals. Gone too soon. Condolences to her family and friends.

We’ve known Sue since our college days…will always remember her quick wit and humor.  She never failed to make us all laugh!  Gone too soon!  RIP, Sue and keep ‘em laughing……..

Sue was a wonderful neighbor for many years in Columbia, MD. She was a joy to spend time with and I wish her family and friends the deepest of condolences.

Sue was a colleague from the Social Security Administration in Seattle. Since  shortly after my retirement in 2006, we have been Facebook friends. Our favorite topics of discussion were baseball and football, especially if the subject involved her beloved Missouri pro teams. I had not seen a post from her in the past few months and was saddened to read the news of her passing. RIP, Sue. 

Sue was a great friend. Met her at Social Security many moons ago and she was always a sweet, positive, smiling person. Always up for a new adventure. May she rest in peace, gone too soon. 

Sincerest sympathies to Sue's family.  Sue was always the most loving and helpful soul.  She worked tirelessly in her role at SSA and became great friends with all those she met.  Rest in peace, dear Sue.  You were the mold that this world needed more of.


Super intelligent, witty, a joy to be with.  I am deeply saddened by the loss of my good friend.
