Beloved wife for 68 years of Stanley Heller; dear mother of Cathy Edwards, Shelly Heller, and Jan Driscoll (Patrick); cherished grandmother of Emily (Dominic) Fletcher, Andrew (Joce) Edwards, and Lily Driscoll; beloved daughter of the late Lorraine and the late Jerry Librach; dear sister of the late Saundra Scissors (Robert), Caroline Weissman (the late Joel), and the late Lawrence Librach (Jane); dear sister-in-law of the late Kenneth Heller (the late Jeanne); dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Family was the center of Susan's world, and she loved all of us unconditionally.
Susan will be remembered for her contagious laughter, long conversations, never taking sides (though we certainly tried to make her), preparing enormous family meals, and insisting we always bring friends home to share them, and being mistaken for her twin sister, Sandy. She was a devoted and loving Nana, nothing brought her more joy than being with her grandchildren. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild this September.
Susan and Stanley shared a remarkable love story. She only had eyes for him, and they continued to hug and kiss until her final day together. Stanley filled their home with handwritten love notes and poems, leaving them everywhere for her to find. We found them throughout our childhood, and we still find them today. We are the luckiest family in the world to have been loved by her. She was our North Star, and to our dad, she was every star in the sky.
Graveside service Sunday July 19 at 11am, at United Hebrew Cemetery, 7855 Canton Ave. 63130. Memorial contributions preferred to the Jewish Federation of St. Louis or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
