Powers, Sylvia (nee Goldberg) died on December 21st, 2017 at the age of 91. Daughter of the late Ida and Clarence Goldberg, beloved wife of the late Marvin Powers, mother of Howard (Linda) Powers, Andrea Powers Schankman, and Carolyn Powers Brown (partner Jonathan Lehmann), grandmother of Elia (Mara) Powers, Peter (Julianne) Schankman, and Mia Brown, and great-grandmother of Jonah and Zeke Powers.
Sylvia was widely engaged throughout her life with her family, friends and community, receiving special joy from her 24 years spent volunteering at the Missouri Baptist Infusion Center, her Friday Night Dinner Group, her weekly game dates, and her regular attendance at many cultural events.
Sylvia will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Funeral service Sunday, December 24th 10:00 AM at Congregation Shaare Emeth, Ladue and Ballas Roads. No visitation prior to service. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions preferred to Support Dogs Inc., 10955 Linpage Place, 63132.
