May my Uncle Ted rest in peace and my he watch down on all of our family and friends. He was and continues to be a great man and wonderful part of our family...

The world has lost a wonderful man, but heaven has gained one.  Mr. Palisch was my FAVORITE teacher ever, and I have grown a better woman because of his care and concern for me from 5th grade to 8th grade and on.  I can thank Mr. Palisch for my love of reading, literature, and history.  None of which seemed very interesting until his classes came along.  I can still to this day name all states and capitals and I mention it is thanks to him every time I am able to quickly recall them.  What a great man and magnificent teacher.  He always remembered me as the student that gave him the clock that sat on his mantle.

When I think about Ted Palisch I think about how awesome of a next-door neighbor he was to grow up next to as a child. I remember on Thursdays when I would get out of school I’d run straight over to the Palisch’s for piano lessons and would sit and chat with Ted in the sunroom waiting for my turn. Another thing that comes to mind when I think about Ted is his yard. Man oh man was he outside a lot. As a child I loved playing with my brother and sister in his yard with him and we’d hang around while he was doing garden work. He was a gracious and loving man to be around and always spoke with kind words. I am really lucky that I had him as a neighbor; he will be missed very much. Ted, his family, and friends are in my prayers.

My brother, sister and I all had or knew Mr. Palisch when we were at Green Park, back in the 1984, 1985 and 1986.  He was a wonderful teacher and dad. Your entire family is in my prayers.  Mr. Palisch was THE BEST at GP!!  He was the greatest youth group director at church also...I have many wonderful memories thanks to him and his dedication. Barb and family:  Gail and I returned last night (4/11) after being gone for a week. We were deeply saddened to hear of Ted's death.  We are deeply gladdened to know of Ted's new life. Ted was the emcee at our last Jackson High School Reunion.  He was a great individual to laugh and talk with. Mr. Palisch was by far one of my favorite teachers.  I had the privilege of being one of his homeroom students in 8th grade. He developed a love of history in me that I still have to this day. I'm grateful to him for helping save a friendship that has been a wonderful blessing in my life. If it were not for Mr. Palisch, I probably wouldn't have that friendship today. He cared so deeply for his students and never wanted to see them lose one of the greatest gifts God gave us: each other. He was a great teacher, servant of Christ, and friend. I thank God for him whenever I think about him.

I only knew Ted for about a year and he touched my heart.  He was a an amazing person and role model!  He will be truely missed!

Mr Palisch was one of kind. I am 52 years old now and still remember all the things he taught us at school. He treated everyone of us like we were family and now that I think about it we were his family in God. I was truly blessed to see him at the last Sausage Dinner I went to and we talked about how he still had Art work of mine and would show other kids what I had done....and I told him I was truly inspired by him and that you can do anything you put your heart mind & soul into. As you know so well, you and your husband were so influential in my life.  Mr. Palisch (and Mrs.) were the very best that GPLS had to offer its students, and it was evident in how many alumn of GP shared memories-in person as well as on facebook. Mr.Palisch was definetly one of the most influencial people in my life. He taught me and my class well and embraced us like a family. It was an honor to be his last class at green park. Heaven has truly gained a good man. You will always be remembered Mr. Palisch.

Reading the heartfelt comments from Ted’s former students, the many lives he influenced as only a Christian teacher can, reminds me of how my generation felt about Ed Schlimpert. I can’t think of a better compliment for both men. Although, Ted smiled a lot more around his students. God be with you, Barb.

Mr. Palisch's smile and sense of humor will never be forgotten!  I ran into him a summer or two ago at Grants Farm.  He yelled out are you SARA or SUSAN? Growing up next door to Ted was a privilege for myself as well as my siblings. My most vivid memory was that Ted is the one that taught me to shoot a basketball. I remember the summer days I'd be outside for hours shooting hoops and hitting softballs. He'd yell while raking the leaves or tending the garden, "Renee, aim for the back of the rim, don't just throw it at the hoop. Renee, don't try to kill the ball just hit the middle."  I was very fortunate to grow up next to such a gentle, kind man. I had a bad day once(we all know how rough 6th grade can be), and he came up to me and pulled a small, smooth rock out of his pocket. He told me it was a healing rock. That you rub it with your thumb and it'll start to make you feel better. I still have the rock. 
He was a great man and will be missed dearly. Your family is in my prayers.

Of all the teachers one has in their lives there is always one that remains deep in your heart -- for so many of us Green Park Alums it was, without a doubt, Mr. Palisch.  He was a disciple of Christ for countless 8th graders through the years as we all thought of him as our teacher but also our friend.  He is that one teacher that you always went back to visit and he was always there -- the same ole Mr. Palisch who always remembered your name.  My son, Casey, was also a student of Mr.Palsch's very last class at Green Park and he was just as amazing of a teacher his last day as his first.  We will miss you terribly Mr. Palisch and the halls of Green Park will always echo your laughter. Your spirit lives in all you taught.

Our family was so sad when we heard about Ted's passing. All four of our children had the pleasure of being in Ted's class. He was a woderful educator and Christian. Our sympathies to the Palish Family. Our family has known Ted for many years. We will miss him sorely.

What a wonderful Christian man and teacher. I remember how happy he was when my husband and I found store tokens at an antique store in Cape Girardeau which came from his family's store in Frohna. I had the honor of being in Mr. Palisch's 8th grade class and I will always remember him fondly as my favorite teacher. Mr. Palisch truly had a passion for his students and for Green Park. I'm so thankful that he continued to attend so many functions at the school after his retirement. It gave my wife and children an opportunity to know and love him. The Green Park family will miss him, but the spirit of Ted Palisch will always remain in these hallowed halls. We pray that God will grant the Palisch family peace in the knowledge that they will see him once again in our heavenly home.

You were my "family" those early years in Jackson, and I am so sorry to hear of Ted's death and other health issues in your family. I am so blessed to have known Mr. Palisch.  He was my 8th grade teacher at Green Park and later, my friend.  I always remember his smile - exactly the one in this picture. I am proud to say that Ted Palisch was my friend and mentor.  My daughter Teresa said Ted was her favorite teacher.  He made teaching/learning fun and interesting.  I enjoyed working with him at Gethsemane Lutheran on Sunday School and VBS projects.  Ted will be missed but I celebrate in His going home to Jesus.

Mr. Palisch (notice I never got comfortable with Ted) was my 5th grade teacher way back in 1964.  As a kid that always was acting up, I had the "privilege" of sitting in the front row!  My favorite class of the day was Math, where he taught us the "New Math".  I found out years later that he was just a few days ahead of us in learning it too!  Softball or kickball at recess with him as the pitcher was always fun!

I've been blessed having him as a family friend ever since, appreciating the support and joy he and Barb have given my Mom, sisters and extended family over the years.

Ted was a 'ray of sunshine' at the bowling alley; always joking with a big smile.  He had a great attitude, and he and my husband would talk about their friends in Cape Girardeau.

Ted was interested in helping his church, and involved in all activities, especially the sausage dinner held each year.

He will be sadly missed, and we wish his wife and family the strength to continue in the faith Ted carried so well.  We will miss him.

You couldnt ask for a better man.  I had him as a teacher and he had both of my daughters Sarah and Hannah.  He truly touched all our lives in such a wonderful way.  I was also blessed to have Barb as a piano teacher.  What beautiful people.  He will be truly missed by all.

We thank God for the humble witness and service that Ted shared with so many.  Our family recalls the many blessings we share over the years - a friendship that goes well beyond the walls of school to the heart of our lives...faith and family! Mom and I recall the card nights, story times, the celebrations we enjoyed together.  How thankful we will always be of Ted for his help with wood,the ramp and the van!  We praise God for His gift of eternal life now given to Ted..."Well done, good and faithful servant...and friend!" My Papa was the greatest grandfather anyone could ask for. He always knew how to bring the family togther. Whether it was our summer vacations togther, our pitch games and scavenger hunts, or the many memorable christmases together as a family. I will never forget his funny jokes and sayings, and all the many stories he has shared with me and my brothers over the years. I always found myself bragging to my friends of his many acheivements like bowling a perfect game and throwing out the first pitch at a cardinals game. One memory that I can only remember through pictures was when I was four and we were on a family trip in Destin, Florida. Everytime he saw me he would tell me this story about that summer trip when I asked him if we would be going to church that Sunday and he and I together led a devotion and church service. He always told me he was so proud of me at that moment at the age of four and I know he is proud of me now. All those many memories and lessons he taught me will always be with me, including how to live a christian life and remain strong in my faith which was the most important lesson he could ever teach me.In saying this I know in my heart that someday after all the earthly pains of sickness and death have passed, I will get to see him again in heaven and that will be the happiest day of my life. I love you so much Papa and I will miss you always.

We couldn't have asked for a better neighbor.  Ted touched our family's heart from the summer we moved in to the house next door on Zenith Court. He never stopped teaching when he left the classroom as I witnessed him teaching my kids a lesson whenever he had the chance.  He taught us most by his gentle ways, his smile and the examples he set in daily life.  He will be missed and the memories of him will forever be in our hearts.

He was my 8th Grade Teacher at GPLS.  I will always remember him for keeping gym class, and other classes, interesting and fun, his utmost care and concern for students, and his corny jokes. I didn't know Ted for a long time, but long enough to know his heart for his family and his Lord.  While he will be missed, we know he is at peace and with the Lord.  May God be with his family and give them the strength only He can provide in the days and months ahead.

What a wonderful man! I could not ask for a better teacher for my son. His smile is one i will never forget. All who had him for a teacher were blessed. I thank him for being a part of Sams life. He will be greatly missed!
