Vida Fabric

Beloved wife of the late Fred Fabric; dear mother and mother-in-law of Nancy (Dr. Robert) Spewak; dear grandmother of Mike, Danny, Mark, and Andy; dear sister of the late Loretta Robinette, Betty Hunter, Peggy Boaz, and Nancy White.

Aided by her trademark spirited disposition and an enduring love for her ever-growing family, Vida built an expansive life which quite literally took her around the world. That said, in many ways she never truly left the farm in Paducah, Kentucky where she was raised.

As the nation emerged from The Great Depression, so too did Vida, graduating from Heath High School at only 16 and later from Draughn’s Business College with a degree in bookkeeping. She then moved to St. Louis where she started a career and met Fred, the love of her life, with whom she forged a long and fulfilling marriage and raised a wonderful daughter. Through everything, Vida always carried herself with immense poise and grace, and even in her passing, she leaves a lasting legacy of deep compassion for everyone her life touched—her husband, parents, sisters, daughter, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren—and will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Visitation Sunday, July 30th, 12:30 PM at the New Mt. Sinai Mausoleum, 8430 Gravois, Affton, MO 63123. Funeral service follows at 1 PM.
