During that time she was an active member of the 1st Baptist Church of Lemay.
After her husband’s death, Violet followed daughters Elaine and Ruth to St. Charles County, where she lived in St. Peters with son Roger. She was a longtime volunteer at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters before she transitioned into assisted living at Breeze Park.
