Vivian F. Waldman, born in St. Louis on February 8, 1938, passed away suddenly on August 18, 2026. The loss of her kind, loving nature is felt deeply and immediately by the family and friends who absolutely adored her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Larry (they just celebrated their anniversary on August 13), her children, Jeffrey (Georgee) Waldman and Robyn (Dr. Keith) Segall, and her grandchildren, Chase Waldman and David & Shannon Segall. She was an aunt, great aunt, cousin and dear friend to many.
Vivian and her siblings, the late Jerry (late Sheila) Fiman and the late Lillian (late Hy) Fredman, grew up in a loving home provided by their adoring parents, the late Isador and the late Ruth (Stoliar) Fiman. After graduating from University City High School, she briefly attended Washington University and then entered the workforce, including serving as the first administrative assistant of the Solomon Schechter Day School.
She met Larry Waldman and the two quickly became inseparable, something that lasted for 65 years. Where you found one, you found the other. They so enjoyed being together and socializing as a couple with their many friends.
Vivian loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was involved and attentive, always making sure that everyone was happy, healthy, and well fed. Her grandkids will always remember the certainty of her love and the way she made them feel like the center of her world, which they absolutely were.
She will be missed forever by all she knew and loved. May her memory be a blessing.
Visitation will begin at 9:15 AM on Thursday, August 20, at Berger Memorial Chapel, 9430 Olive Blvd, in Olivette, with a Funeral Service immediately following at 10 AM. After the service, interment will be at 11 AM at Chesed Shel Emeth, 650 White Rd, in Chesterfield.
Shiva will be held at Brookdale, 1 New Ballas Place, in Creve Coeur, on Thursday, August 20, from 1:30-6:30 PM, with Minyan at 6:00 PM, and on Friday, August 21, from 1:00-4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks for donations in Vivian’s name be made to Congregation B’nai Amoona or a charity of your choice.
