William Louis Niederwimmer, age 91, of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022. William was born December 29, 1930, in Lohman, Missouri, to the late Albert Frank and Lydia Maria Niederwimmer (nee Fischer); loving husband of Joyce A. Niederwimmer (nee Fischer); dearest father of Norine A. (Matthew) Cannon and William A. (Teresa) Niederwimmer; cherished grandpa to Grace and Gabrielle Cannon, Nicholas and Grant Niederwimmer; dear cousin to Hadley Fischer (Doris) Seidel and the late Grant (Barbara) Seidel.
Mr. Niederwimmer was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 111, Shrewsbury, Missouri, serving as past post Commander. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church and an avid gardener, known for sharing his abundant tomato crop with neighbors and friends each summer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Legion are appreciated.
A visitation for William will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd, Saint Louis, Missouri, 63125. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
