Yvelise Torkelson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born in Limón, Costa Rica, on January 24, 1936, and lived a life filled with love from her devoted husband, family, and many treasured friends.
Yvelise was the cherished wife of Anthony Torkelson. They were married in 1959 in San Jose, Costa Rica, and shared over six decades of love, companionship, travel adventures, and countless memories.
Family and friends were the cornerstones of Yvelise's life. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Magda, Annelise, and Michele. Yvelise's love for her children was boundless, and she took great pride in watching them grow, succeed, and start families of their own. Her nurturing spirit, wisdom, and support will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters and all who knew her.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Yvelise was an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She delighted in their accomplishments, celebrated their milestones, and treasured every moment spent together.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony Torkelson; her loving daughters, Magda (Phillip) Russell, Annelise Cubel, and Michele (John) Cantu; her grandchildren, Craig, Nicholas, Giselle (Nick), Adam, Michael, Tatiana, Natalie, and Danielle; and her nine great-grandchildren, Grant, Joseph, Julian, Sofia, Oliver, Anthony, Benjamin, Addison, and Penelope. She is also survived by a host of extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral mass to honor Yvelise’s life will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 11223 Schuetz Rd, St. Louis, MO 63146, on April 13, 2024, at 11:00 am.
In place of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul or the charity of your choice, in Yvelise's honor.
Yvelise's memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will live on through the love and memories she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.
