CATAHOULA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Charles “Keke” Bourque at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Catahoula. Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Dion Hall in Catahoula beginning at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, and will remain open throughout the night until the time of services on Thursday. A Rosary will be prayed by Fr. Bill Melancon at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
Charles “Keke” Bourque passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the age of 77. A native of St. Martinville and a resident of Catahoula, Keke worked as a commercial fisherman and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a simple man who enjoyed the small things in life; Family, Faith, and Fishing.
Keke enjoyed spending time with his family and making memories with those he loved. An avid fisherman, he especially enjoyed fishing for sac-a-lait. He also enjoyed going to the casino and eating out. One memory he particularly cherished was the last trip he and his wife took to celebrate their anniversary. Above all, Keke treasured the time spent surrounded by his family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Berthelot Bourque; his sons, Isaac Ulysse Bourque and wife Sonya, and Keke John Bourque; his daughter, Stephanie B. Longman and husband Bryan; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bourque, Ryan Longman, Skye Longman, Raven Longman, and Jaci Longman; his brothers, Stanley Bourque and Antoine Bourque Jr.; and his sister, Lucrecia Bourque Wiltz.
Keke also leaves behind to cherish his memory, great grandchildren, Scarlet, Sophia, Jaxson, Carolyn, Violet, and Jonah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine Bourque Sr. and Mabel Dugas Bourque; his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Migues Bourque; his sister, Marjorie Bourque Taylor; and his grandchild, Kelsey Charles Bourque.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Bourque, Keke Bourque, Bryan Longman, Ryan Longman, Irvy Berthelot, and Gerlad Berthelot. Antoine and Stanley Bourque will be honorary pallbearers.
