COTEAU HOLMES – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Clifton Joseph Bourque, age 81, at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with Fr. L.F. Jose officiating. Interment will be held at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.
A native and resident of Coteau Holmes, Mr. Bourque passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Bourque was a devoted husband and father. He was a retired auto mechanic, a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and a member of the Coteau Holmes Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years. Mr. Bourque enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Flo Bernard Bourque of Coteau Holmes; four daughters, Randie Tate and husband Joe of St. Martinville; Becky Crochet and husband Mike of Coteau Holmes; Trisha Blanchard and husband Roy, Jr. of Coteau Holmes and Dena Blanchard and husband Neal of Catahoula; ten grandchildren; Travis Tate, Troy Tate, Tanya Usie, Casey Crochet, Eric Crochet, Bryan Crochet, Blake Blanchard, Kyle Blanchard, Maci Blanchard and Lexi Blanchard; eight great grandchildren, Byron Tate, Carson Tate, Coy Tate, Megan Tate, Brittney Tate, Alysa Usie, Gaven Crochet and Josie Crochet. Mr. Bourque is also survived by his siblings, Nelda Charpentier and husband Eddie of Franklin; Juanita Rester and husband Bill of Breaux Bridge; Betty O’Rourke of Chicago, IL; Beulah Rabeaux and husband David of New Iberia; Merlin Bourque and wife Judy of New Iberia; Floyd Bourque and wife AnnaLee of Breaux Bridge and Similien “Jun” Bourque, Jr. and wife Carleen of Catahoula.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Similien and Anadia Tally Bourque, Sr.; siblings, Delvin Bourque, Sr., Allen Bourque, Delta “Toot” Norris and Eula Bourque.
Pallbearers will be Travis Tate, Casey Crochet, Troy Tate, Eric Crochet, Bryan Crochet and Josh Usie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake, Kyle, Maci and Lexi Blanchard.
