ST. MARTINVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Wade Bourque, the former Elodie “Sue” Mello, age 86, at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Msgr. Douglas Courville will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until service time.
A native of Biloxi, MS and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Bourque passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center.
Mrs. Bourque was a member of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and also the Catholic Daughters for more than 20 years. She was a loving and caring person who often tended to the sick and shut in. Mrs. Bourque leaves behind many fond memories for her family and friends to cherish. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by three sons, Nelson Bourque and wife Bertha of Coteau Holmes; Stanley Bourque of New Mexico and Chris Bourque and wife Nona of St. Martinville; five grandchildren, Darlene Bourg; Jessica LaGrange; Jeremy Bourque; Patrick Bourque and Tabitha Latiolais; seven great grandchildren, Colby Bourque; Chelsea Bourque; Caleb Bourque; Liam LaGrange; Aiden LaGrange; Faith Bourg and Nami LaGrange and three brothers, Horley Mello; Dennett Mello and Hyson Mello all of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ovay and Lodo Lasseigne Mello; husband, Wade Bourque; one daughter, Diane Bourque; two sons, David Bourque and Michael Wade Bourque; one grandson, Michael Bourque; one great granddaughter, Kristen Bourg and four brothers, John Broussard; Vincent “Coon” Blanchard; Anthony “NuNu” Blancahrd and Douglas Mello.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bourque, Eddie Bourg, Jeremy Bourque, Colby Bourque, Caleb Bourque and Ryan LaGrange.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nelson Bourque, Grayling Thibodeaux, Benjie Gardemal and Alfred Guillotte.
