Esther Theriot Latiolais

CATAHOULA – a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Mervyn Latiolais, the former Esther Theriot, age 87, at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Tuesday until service time at Dion Hall in Catahoula. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 pm.

A native and resident of Catahoula, Mrs. Latiolais passed away at 6:05 am on, Monday, October 27, 2014 at Maison Teche Nursing Home.

Mrs. Latiolais enjoyed being outdoors, working in her yard and spoiling cats. She was a very loving and nurturing person whose greatest joy was cooking and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty L. Breaux and husband Roland of Catahoula and Lora L. Citty and husband Brent of St. Martinville; five grandchildren, Tiffany B. Theriot and husband Louis; Chad Breaux and wife Niki; Michael Breaux and wife Athena; Lindsey Citty and wife Andrea and Blake Citty; six great grandchildren, Lacy Theriot; Lexie Theriot; Loren Breaux; Abigail Breaux; Allie Citty; Layden Citty and two great great grandchildren, Makayla Theriot and Kammi Prados.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervyn Latiolais; parents, Adam and Alicia Lopez Theriot and two brothers, Costa Theriot and John L. Theriot.

Pallbearers will be Chad Breaux, Michael Breaux, Lindsey Citty, Blake Citty, “T Black” Theriot, Mark Theriot and Layden Citty.
