ST. MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Royal John Johnson, Sr., the former Gloria Boutte, age 62, at 10:00 am Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Robin officiating. Interment will follow at Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until service time.

A native and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Johnson passed away at 11:03 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Johnson was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone who was blessed to be a part of her life. She loved visiting with her family and friends, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gloria was a member of Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church where she found and served Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters, Leah Johnson, Sue EllenCallier and Steve and Victoria Vicnaire; two sons, Royal John Johnson, Jr and Travis James Johnson and Kimberly all of St. Martinville; nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Boutte and Angel of St. Martinville and Ronald Boutte of Bayou Portage and three sisters, Terry Hayes and Shelton of St. Martinville; Brenda Smith and Eli and Sylvia Smith and Milton all of Bayou Portage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal John Johnson, Sr.; parents, Alcibiade and Esther Bonin Boutte; two brothers, Errol Boutte and Donald Boutte; two sisters, Linda Gail Patin and Monica Hickman and brother in law, John Roy Patin.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Johnson, Brandon Caillier, Tyler Johnson, Jared Johnson, Tori Johnson, Justin Callier, Louis Boutte and Ronald Boutte.

I loved Gloria since the day I meant her back in 1977. Dore’s. We had such good times their and I will never forget that. Her memories will always be in my heart. I will never forget when Gloria, Rita Leblanc and myself were walking on the side of the road in Coutea Holmes a truck was coming fast an blow us in a ditch. We all sat there awhile laughing 😆 our butts off cause we had an good buzz. I m so sorry for all your lost. I just found out this morning she passed away. Today June 1,2018. I surely would had been their to tell her bye.

She was there for me my whole life. She was very soft hearted. Even when someone tried provoking her, she always stayed so calm. I'm going to miss my Loonie very much, but I know without a doubt I'll see her again because she asked Jesus to be her savior.
