Jenise Smith Douet

Saint Martinville – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Jenise Smith Douet, age 44, at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Fr. Kenneth Bienvenue officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 until service time.

A native and resident of Saint Martinville, Jenise passed away at 6:42 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center.

Jenise loved shooting pool, swimming, crafts and writing poetry. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her son, Scotty Paul Douet, Jr. of Saint Martinville, daughters Kelly Lynn Douet, Samantha Marie Douet and Cierra Nicole Douet, all of Saint Martinville, sisters Connie Charpentier of Saint Martinville, Vickie Smith of Saint Martinville and twin sister Denise Smith of South Carolina, and sisters in law Nicole D. Suire, Jennifer D. Girouard and Sonya Douet.

She was preceded in death by her husband Scotty Douet, Sr., mother Winston J. Smith, father Gerald Smith, mother in law Edith D. Douet and father in law Joseph J. Douet.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Douet, Jr., Rodney Culver, Donald Charpentier, Mark Girouard, Luke Trahan and Brock Suire.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Wiltz and Mitchell Simon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help pay for funeral expenses.
