ST. MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Larry Dean Smith, Sr., age 79, at 2:00 pm Friday, June 2, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Brother Tony Ronsonet officiating. Interment will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Coteau Holmes

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native of and resident of St. Martin Parish, Mr. Smith passed away at 3:57 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Iberia Medical Center.

He is survived by his children, Lawrence Smith, Jr. and wife Edna and Timothy Smith and wife Trudy all of Loreauville, Glennward Smith, Sr. and wife Betty of Kaplan, Randy Smith and Cynthia Smith both of Bayou Benoit, Allen Smith and Geraldine Smith Sidner and husband Harvey all of Coteau Holmes; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and brother, James Daniel Smith and wife Rebecca of Loreauville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Persilver Smith; parents, Archie and Mary Brandenburg Smith; and brothers, Archie Smith, Jr., Huey Ray Smith and two young brothers.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Smith, Glennward Smith, Sr. Glennward Smith, Jr., Timothy Smith, II; Harvey A Sidner, IV and Barry J. Rodgers, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lance T. Sidner, Justin M. Sidner and Dillon Smith.
