COTEAU HOLMES – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary Doris Patin, age 59, at 11:00 am Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. Fr. Joe will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 10:30 am Monday. The funeral home will remain open all night. The Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6:30 pm.
Mary Doris Patin was born September 6, 1954 to the late John Bayard Patin and Eva Delta Hayes Patin Richard. She passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her residence, with her family at her side.
Mary was in retail management most of her life, most recently as an Assistant Manager with Piggly Wiggly in St. Martinville. Outside of work, she enjoyed swimming, and going dancing with her friends at Pat’s of Henderson. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished that time with them. Mary leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be kept in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Costa “Toby” Latiolais, III and fiancée April Adams of Loreauville, Karen Latiolais of Coteau Holmes, and Kory Latiolais of St. Martinville; nine grandchildren, Chelsy Arceneaux, Toby Latiolais, Shaunna Latiolais, Shane Adams, Megan Latiolais, Kaylee Latiolais, Cassie Latiolais, Koby Latiolais and Kortni Latiolais; six great-grandchildren, Camden, Caigen and Carsen Arceneaux, Isabella and Tucker Sonnier, and Ashton Viator; and her brother, Joseph “Big T” Richard and Tina of Scott.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Roy Patin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Costa Latiolais, Jr., Costa Latiolais, III, Kory Latiolais, Joseph Richard, John Patin, and Dale Babin.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Directors and staff of Hospice of Acadiana for the care and compassion given to our mother.
