ST. MARTINVILLE - Noelie Lasseigne Champagne, born on December 23, 1941, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 84. A native of Catahoula and a longtime resident of St. Martinville, Noelie lived a life centered on the people she loved most.
Noelie was happiest living a simple life surrounded by family and friends. She never asked for much and found joy in the little things that meant the most. Whether it was sharing a meal, visiting with loved ones, or spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, those moments were what made her happiest. Her family was truly the center of her world, and she treasured every chance she had to love, spoil, and care for them. The love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unmatched, and they will forever remember the kindness, attention, and affection she gave so freely.
She also had a love for Cajun music and dancing. Many wonderful memories were made at La Poussiere Cajun Dancehall, her favorite place to spend an evening enjoying good music, good company, and the culture she loved. If there was music playing, Noelie was ready to dance.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Connie C. Poirier and her husband, Warren, Carol Champagne, Jr. and his partner, James Collins, and Charley Champagne and his wife, Paula; her brother, Eugene "Geno" Lasseigne and his wife, Nell; her grandchildren, Casey Nugent and her husband, Andrew, Chantel Champagne, and Chase Champagne and his wife, Alyson; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Nugent, Aubree Nugent, Kaylee "Nay Nay" Nugent, Link Nugent, and Brennlynn Champagne.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, Adolph Lasseigne and Mathilda Theriot Lasseigne; and her brothers, Ernest Lasseigne, Albert Lasseigne, Aldis Lasseigne, Avie Lasseigne, Armond Lasseigne, and O'Neil Lasseigne.
