Terry Joseph Delahoussaye

ST. MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Terry “White” Delahoussaye , age 76 , at 1:30 pm Wednesday February 11 , 2015 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Hoey and Deacon Theo Landry officiating . Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday February 10, 2015 with a Rosary at: 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 am on Wednesday February 11, 2015 until service time.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of Lafayette, Mr. Delahoussaye passed away on Sunday February 8, 2015 at 8:15 am surrounded by family.

Mr. Delahoussaye had a great love for horses. He owned and raced horses at Evangeline Downs and Harrah’s Louisiana Downs for over 35 years. Terry was a member of the Tejas Vaqueros for 40 years and for nearly twenty years made an annual trip to Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico. Mr. Delahoussaye loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; Shirley Richard Delahoussaye; children, Bobby Hoey and wife Lisa of Scott, Marty Hoey and wife Anna of Lafayette, Jessie Hoey of Nashville, and Darlene Bourque Bourg and husband Eddie of Parks; grandchildren, Kyle Hoey and fiancée Holly Machovec, Joey Bourque and wife Nicole, Monique Hoey, Reneé Hoey, and Faith Bourg; sisters, Myrtle Simar and Jeanette Guidry; 7 great grandchildren; 4 nephews; 3 nieces; and Kayla Rebardi , who was partial raised by the Delahoussaye family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theobold and Leontine Landry Delahoussaye; and brother, James “Black” Delahoussaye.

Pallbearers will be James Guidry, Timothy Guidry, Kyle Hoey, Shallen Hebert, Jessie Hoey, and Marty Hoey.
