Ann Saviano

Ann Saviano, affectionately known as “Anna Dear,” passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey, on September 20, 2026.

Ann was born on July 1, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Josephine (Purello) Grieco. She grew up in Brooklyn with her older siblings, Mary and Nicholas. As a young woman, Ann worked briefly for the Electrolux Company in Manhattan.

In 1955, Ann married Michael “Mickey” Saviano, the love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their four children. The couple owned and operated Ray French Cleaners, in Brooklyn and Staten Island, for nearly 50 years, and Ann stood by Mickey’s side, giving encouragement and support throughout their life together.

In 1969, Ann and her family moved to Staten Island, New York, where they lived for 29 years. During those years, they made countless friends and created memories that would last a lifetime.

In 1990, Ann and Mickey retired to sunny Tierra Verde, Florida, where they embraced their retirement years to the fullest. They enjoyed the warm weather, boating, traveling with family and friends, and attending the dog track almost every Sunday after church.

Ann will be remembered most for her incredible zest for life. She was always up for an adventure and had a wonderful ability to make the most of every moment. She was also known for her impeccable style, her warm personality, and, above all, her unwavering love and devotion to her family.

Ann leaves behind her beloved sons, Michael and his wife, Moni, and Joseph and his wife, Nora; her sons-in-law, Larry Schwartz and James Baffuto; her five grandchildren, Karissa and her husband, Chris, Lexia and her husband, Jeff, Nicole, Deanna and her fiancé, Mario, and Jenna and her husband, Joseph; her four great-grandchildren, Kenton and Colette, and Samuel and Callum; and her sister, Mary (Grieco) Monastero.

Ann was predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph and Josephine Grieco; her brother, Nicholas Grieco, her half-sisters, Florence (Grieco) Apisa, affectionately known as “Aunt Sis,” and Rose (Grieco) DeSaro, affectionately known as “Aunt Dolly;” her husband, Michael; and her daughters, Joanne (Saviano) Baffuto and Dawn (Saviano) Schwartz.

Ann’s life was filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, adventure, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her vibrant spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. She left behind a lifetime of stories that will continue to be told and cherished for generations.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Chapel, 301 Quarry Avenue, St. Pete Beach, Florida, (727) 360-5577. A prayer service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow immediately afterward at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Florida.
