REPETA, Anthony A. age 84 of St Petersburg, FL died Oct 18, 2018. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 2, 1934 to parents Anthony and Katherine (Skora) Repeta. Anthony (Tony) received his Engineering Degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. He was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War. He began his career with GTE in their development labs, held patents in his name, and traveled extensively for work including lengthy assignments in Germany and Iran. After 25+ years he ended his career with GTE as part of their Senior Management team. He then went on as co-founder of Electronic Office Centers of America Inc. After retirement, he and his wife Nell moved to St Petersburg in July of 2017 from Glenview, IL. Tony was an engineer at heart. In his spare time, he built his own Thorpe T-18 aircraft, and a custom made replica Austin-Healey automobile. He also wrote his autobiography, and was in the process of publishing a pilot's manual for flying single engine planes. Anthony was known for having a great sense of humor. He was an extremely fun loving, kind, and generous man who was loved by many. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years Nell (Eberle) Repeta, son; David Repeta, step daughter Anita Mandell (Barry), sister; Helen Repeta, brother-in-law Robert Sroka, and grandchildren; Byron and Alena Mandell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Mr. Repeta will be laid to rest in Bay Pines National Cemetery, St Petersburg, FL. Services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in his name.
