Edwin Earl (Ed) Foreman 94, of Seminole, FL passed away peacefully July 29, 2020 at the Lake Seminole Square independent living facility in Seminole, FL. He was a World War II Veteran, training to be a pilot when the war ended. After the war, Ed attended Duke University earning a Master’s degree in forestry which complemented his lifelong love of the outdoors and made him a diehard Duke basketball fan. His forestry job took him all over small cities in the Southeast United States where pine trees and papermills abound. Ed loved to fish, jokingly embellishing the size and quantity of his catch. Ed travelled the world collecting keepsakes from the far corners of the planet. Quick witted, Ed always enjoyed lively conversations and pranks. He was married to Frances Griffith Foreman for over 50 years until her passing in 2006. They were active members of the Prattville, Alabama First Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and serving others. After his first wife died, Ed married Virginia Sorrell, who has been his wife, co-traveler and pillar of strength for the last 13 years. Ed is survived by Virginia, a sister Ruth Fowler, a brother Charlie Foreman, two daughters, Beth Foreman Basham and Lynn Foreman Key, a son Ed Foreman Jr, a son-in-law, Richard Key and three grandchildren, Brannen Basham, Bergen Basham and Laura Key Fullbrook. Ed focused on his family and lived a full life positively influencing dozens of others who will carry on his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make voluntary donations to Habitat for Humanity. A memorial service will be held 10am Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Ave, St Pete Beach, FL 33706.
